It’s been 2 years since the release of the DALLAS EXPLOSION’s first EP called "Depression is a fulltime job" (produced by Mike Butcher and released on Fuzz Recordings/Mandai Distribution). Great reviews, great shows in their country – Belgium (Dour Festival, Les Nuits Botanique, Verdur Rock, Marktrock, Gentse Feesten and support act for the Killers), The Netherlands (support act for Bush, Monster Magnet and 5 sold out shows warming up for legendary Willy DeVille), Germany (headlining a stage at the Free and Easy festival in Munich) and France, a few radio airplays and most of all, more and more new fans.
It’s in September 2007 that their first CD "Girlfriends & Excess" is finally being released. Nearly as much awaited as Axl Rose/Guns and Roses’ Chinese Democracy, it took them quite a long time to be able to get it out.

Summer 2007, Flavou’dish -known from their album "Natural Human Technology"- is going through some changes. The band with roots in Antwerp switches its line-up, what makes the pieces of the puzzle fit. This goes along with a new and fresh sound that moves the band to a next level. Sister Luke is born. The band hit the Reanimator studios just before summer 2008. Their first self-titled EP was recorded and edited under Tim Coenen’s productional supervision. Pieter Cloos (known from his work for/with bands as Motorpsycho) mixed and mastered "Sister Luke" into a smooth and intense listening experience. This successful result is only a warming-up of the upcoming album, which will be recorded in 2009.
Sister Luke is one of the better indie pop bands in Belgium. Influenced by bands as Motorpsycho, The Flaming Lips and My Morning Jacket, this band is ready to rock your world. But be aware: the poppy and most definitely catchy tunes will set your head on fire!
Be sure to keep an eye on this band in the future!

Founded in 2001 in Haugesund on the westcoast of Norway, they have been called the band with one foot in Pompeii and one in space. With their first three albums released from 2002 to 2006, they have developed from being a searching instrumental lo-fi-post-rock band that Pitchfork dubbed ”Psych-Garage Dronemeisters” to a fullblown, focused and fresh sounding rock ensemble with great songs and a mix of dark atmospheres and catchy choruses.
Lie, Haaland and Andersen are founding members while Clementsen (22) and Frøkedal (21) both joined ranks before the recording of ”Futuro”. Clementsen and Frøkedal are also members of up and coming group Megaphonic Thrift.
Guest musicians include Rune Grammofon affiliates Nils Økland and Kjetil Møster (Ultralyd) and the album is produced by wonderboy Jørgen Træen (Jaga Jazzist, Kaizers Orchestra, The National Bank, Sondre Lerche). Their previous album from 2006 was nominated for a Norwegian Grammy in the ”Best Rock Album” category .

From Huy, a small Belgian town, Showstar is a name well known to both national radio playlists, as to festival audiences in Belgium, France and the UK. Since the early 2000s the group has been searching for the perfect pop song to appeal to housewives and students, CEOs and motorists stuck in traffic jams for days. So far they have achieved several radio hits (Little Bastard, Day by Day, Superlover, ...) and prestigious support slots with bands such as The Rakes, The Thrills, Maximo Park, The Charlatans, and more...
Showstar is not a simple pop group. As well as uplifting songs to be played head-held-high, there is a darker, more introspective side to their music. If the 90s Britpop influence is obvious, it wasn't only grotesque, stadium anthems stat propelled bands like Blur and Pulp to stardom, but also the qualities of malaise and unease in their music after two or three unambiguous hits. This applies equally to these Belgians.
Their third album, Think Ringo is available from 1 February 2010 and was once again produced by Gareth Parton (The Go! Team, Foals, Pete And The Pirates, Beta Band, Killers, Rakes, ...) and recorded in London and Belgium.

To whom it may concern... Just as Generation 'X' got tired, gave up, and got day-jobs, Mayfield took an oath to start a musical revolution against 'mainstream' thinking.
Mayfield are an alternative rock band from Adelaide, South Australia formed in 2004. They have forged their own unique blend of punk rock and explosive 'new-grunge' through their varied influences and at times controversial social views.
The philosophy and corner stone of Mayfield is part grunge rejectionism, part hippie ideal, part project mayhem but wholly its own. Mayfield speak of a generation robbed, a generation lied to, a generation out of faith.
The three men, all in their early-mid twenties, made a pact: to perform raw, pure and hypnotic music for people of all walks of life.
Mayfield’s core and true strength is revealed at their live shows. The band truely calls the road their home and has toured Australia, USA, UK and Europe extensively. They recently completed their second tour of the UK and Europe. On this tour they played 25 dates across western Europe.
The band consists of Zigg West, [Vocals/Guitars] Sam Knight [Drums] and Jett [Bass].

Jodymoon are songwriting duo Digna Janssen and Johan Smeets from The Netherlands. They have been around in the music business for a while now.
With Dutch rock band Rosenfeld they released 2 albums, a live DVD, they played at the Popkomm festival in Berlin and got signed by German record company EMG.
January 2006 Rosenfeld quit; Digna and Johan started Jodymoon in February 2006.
'We recorded this album really fast because we weren't worried about playing too perfect, in fact we really didn't want it to be perfect, we wanted it to breathe, and have mistakes on it, just like real life has mistakes on it.'
In June 2006 they released their debut album 'Look at me, look at me, don't look at me.'

The debut album "Them & I" will be released on October, Friday the 13th. It contains 12 beautiful pop songs. |
