Newton is a 5 piece alternative rock band. Didier (vocals/guitar), Sven (bass) and David (guitar) got together in 2009 and knew what to expect from one another musically when they met Wim (drums) and Danny (keyboards) via auditions and adds. The last two completed the band by the end of that year. Newton is a mixture of indie compositions with slight pinches of rock.

Their roots are their force. As a Belgian band, Newton is powerful no-nonsense music with a strong identity. Didier’s lyrics come with such ease that even unsung, they will feel like music to your ears. The songs (musically and lyrically) are open for personal interpretation. The latter being the overall aim of Newton.

Production and arrangements can be a source of inspiration but the musical spirit is clear: wanting the sound different! The vibe and the spirit are unique and don’t need any comparison.

"Take Me To Your House" was their first released song in May 2011. It got airplay in Colombia, Mexico, Japan and the USA.
The first single "Kiss And Tell" (of the forth coming album), was recorded during the summer 2011 in La Chapelle Studio’s, mixed in ‘Temple Studio’s in Malta, with producer Luuk 'Shameboy' Cox and got mastered by Mr. Frank Arkwright (The Smiths, Coldplay, Arcade Fire, ...) in the famous Abbey Road Studios in London. This single got instant airplay on several radio stations. National radio station MNM picked up the song and put it in high rotation. The band also supported the Australian INXS in one of the most beautiful venues in Belgium.

After the recording of the full album with (never change a winning team) Luuk Cox…, recorded in La Chapelle, Mixing at Temple Studio’s, Mastering at Abbey Road by Mr Arkwright… , the second single ‘Out Of This’ was released in May 2012. The song got picked up by several radio stations. MNM put the song on high rotation again.
Newton was also asked for several live radio- and tv performances to perform acoustic versions of their hit singles. One of the highlights was their appearance during the Peter Van de Veire Marathonradio. Also a cover version of Gossip’s ‘Perfect World’ was performed live and got airplayed on several occasions.

Newton released their debut album and is ready to tour Belgium and the rest of the rock and roll world!
